This test result confirms that the Starduct–Belimo VAV Box not only meets but exceeds international standards, proving NSCA’s world-class expertise in HVAC product design and precision manufacturing.

Technical Analysis: Air Leakage Test Results – VAV Box Model SVAV-S-06

The Intertek test report, conducted in accordance with ASHRAE 130:2025, Section 5.10, demonstrates the outstanding airtightness performance of the Starduct–Belimo VAV Box (Model SVAV-S-06).

For the Casing Leakage Test, leakage rates range only from 1.1 to 5.8 SCFM as static pressure increases from 0.5 to 5.0 in.H₂O — equivalent to less than 10 m³/h at 1250 Pa. This remarkably low figure indicates high manufacturing precision, excellent panel sealing, and the use of premium gaskets, ensuring complete enclosure integrity even under high-pressure operation.

Most notably, the Damper Leakage Test recorded 0 SCFM across the entire pressure range (0.5–5.0 in.H₂O) — meaning no detectable air leakage through the damper blades. This performance surpasses EN 1751 Class D, the highest international classification for damper airtightness.

Technically, these results reflect NSCA’s exceptional manufacturing and quality control capabilities, from sheet metal forming and welding to assembly precision and actuator calibration with Belimo’s control system. In HVAC system operation, superior airtightness ensures:

  • Highly accurate airflow calibration and minimal balancing error.

  • Reduced energy loss and pressure fluctuation in duct networks.

  • Stable VAV control performance, particularly in low-pressure or smart IAQ-controlled environments.
